Flats. I love shoes that let me walk. And here are a few of a few of my current favourites. Also my first pair of Vans (on the far left).

Best Christmas present: Okay it’s a bit late, but I love this super cute multi layer bracelet (even though I know that ‘arm parties’ are technically over).

I’ve written many times on this blog that I’m not a fan of trousers. I almost never wear them and I don’t even own very many pairs. Then I was convinced to buy this pair. The best thing I can say about it is that pockets are awesome. They give a lot more flexibility for movement and comfort. But I do have a feeling they’re a little tight. So I’m not sure how I feel about them, I guess on the weekends and days off they are okay.

Also I think there’s a certain type of top that you wear with trousers that you don’t wear as much with skirts. I don’t seem to own very many tops that look good with trousers. So putting together outfits can be a bit challenging.

Not a convert yet.

I saw a duffel bag on the metro that was orange and gold. The colour combo seemed unexpected and fun. And I was ready for a new library book bag. So I tried to make my own. Here’s the result. Overall I’m pretty happy, even though some of the construction issues. I wish I could find the photo of the bag in the metro, but it’s gone missing :(

Tops that work with trousers!

I invested in this top for my new trousers (it’s Conni Kaminski) I think it works well, you tell me…

Yves Saint Laurent the movie

I was recently was lucky enough to go to a premiere of the movie Yves Saint Laurent.

The film’s opulence was astounding and I loved the costumes. It really encapsulated the eras in fashion from the 50s til the 70s. It shows the  loosening of social norms personified by the character of Yves.

My favourite scenes were the fashion shows.

I don’t know if the film itself is great, but the costumes, the sets, the fashions that you see in the movie really were enjoyable. I was definitely mesmerised for the entire running time. I would recommend it just for the costumes.

This weekend’s craft: iPad mini case

Recently at work I got an iPad mini. I had a tendency to take it with me everywhere but then I realised that, in my bag, it was getting scratched, so I decided to make a case to keep it safe.

It’s made out of gray felt with a turquoise ribbon and an elephant button. I’m pretty happy with it. And now I know the iPad mini will be safe :-)

Also it’s nice to have a weekend project that doesn’t take up the whole weekend.

But, what do you think, this could even be a clutch, no?
